When the company I worked for sold a large amount of their stores, I moved instead to work for a brand new franchisee. Here I helped the fledgling business set up their first subway. I had to train all of their sandwich artists, tam leaders and managers in a short space of time, help them set up till systems and ensure they marketed their relatively unknown store well enough to stay in profit.

Upon deciding to move to Liverpool, my employer in Aberystwyth helped me to transfer to another franchise, my duties where much the same, but as the company was much larger I was entrusted with more responsibilities, making key decisions for the running of the store without requiring the head office?s involvement.

I was promoted to full store manager. The franchisee took a step back and was able to organise holidays knowing his store was in capable hands. I was responsible for all workings of the store. From writing rotas and marketing, to training all staff, monitoring their performance and ensuring we always scored highly in our evaluations once a month.
